Ted Hastings is the Chief Executive Officer of RhythmOne plc (LSE AIM: RTHM) responsible for corporate vision and growth and all operating functions of the firm. He joined the Board of Directors in 2017 as an Executive Director, bringing with him significant digital advertising, publishing and ad tech experience to the Board. Most recently, he served as the CEO of Perk Inc (TSE: PER), the mobile-first supply side rewards and engagement platform that was acquired by RhythmOne plc in January 2017. Prior to Perk, Ted served as CEO for Rebellion Media, a diversified digital media company, where he completed 13 acquisitions in the first two years of operation. Previously, he served as President at Geosign Corporation, which was subsequently sold to Moxy Media/Tsavo Media, a wholly-owned subsidiary of American Capital. As the President and CEO at these firms, Ted built out the executive teams, managed company restructuring and oversaw key financing and acquisition activities. Earlier in his career, Ted was CEO at sales and distribution software company Global Beverage Group. He began his career as an associate in the Audit division of Deloitte & Touche LLP in Canada.
Ted currently serves on the boards of Push Strength and Fongo. Previously, he served on the boards of Maintenance Assistant, Coreworx, Brick Brewing (TSE: BRB) and Communitech. He was inducted into the Waterloo Region Hall of Fame as Intrepid award winner in 2010, and named to Canada’s Top 40 under 40 for 2009. He also served as head executive coach of HyperDrive, a $30 million venture fund located in Waterloo, Ontario. Ted holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Wilfrid Laurier University.
Richard O’Connor is the Chief Financial Officer of RhythmOne. Having joined the company in early 2017, he brings over 20 years of finance experience in traditional and digital media companies. Immediately prior to joining RhythmOne, Rich was the CFO of PageScience, the venture-funded, health-oriented programmatic network, where he managed the day-to-day operations and finances of the enterprise, including raising capital, driving the company to profitability and facilitating its sale to Accent Health Media. In 2007, Richard was part of the Private Equity-led buyout team of Prime Visibility Media Group (PVMG) and took over as the CFO of the company, restructuring the operations and balance sheet, and driving revenue growth until its sale in 2011 to RhythmOne plc. His financial career in media includes Warner Bros. Domestic Television, MCA TV, Universal TV, USAI and Vivendi Universal - eventually serving as VP of Finance and Operations at Universal Domestic Television, a $1bn Division of NBC Universal (NYSE: GE). Rich earned a BS (Accounting) from University of Bridgeport.
Frank Pao is the Chief Business Officer of RhythmOne, having joined the company in 2011. Frank has over 18 years of executive management experience within the technology industry in both venture-funded and public companies. Previously, he served as president and chief executive officer of intelligent video analytics company Vidient Systems, where he led the turnaround of the company. Before that, he was president of Verity and chief operating officer at Autonomy, Inc. where he had full operating responsibility for both organizations, and helped drive and integrate several successful acquisitions. Prior to Autonomy, Frank was senior vice president, Business Affairs at Virage, a leader in video search that he helped to take public. Earlier, he specialized in intellectual property and licensing transactions at the law firm of Gray Cary Ware & Freidenrich (now DLA Piper). Frank earned a B.S. in bioengineering from the University of California at Berkeley and a J.D. from Boalt Hall School of Law at the University of California at Berkeley.
Dan Slivjanovski is head of Marketing at RhythmOne, responsible for strategic brand direction, corporate communications, product marketing and sales empowerment. A veteran strategy consultant and agency executive, Dan's expertise lies in anticipating sector trends and emerging customer needs while also helping to define and implement corporate growth strategies. Dan's knowledge base covers comprehensive digital advertising elements, with specialization in online video, cross-screen targeting, and programmatic trading. Dan brings 20 years of senior experience in digital marketing, management consulting and agency services to his role as head of Marketing. Prior to joining RhythmOne, Dan was Executive Vice President of HNW Inc, a marketing consultancy focused on the financial services and luxury sectors, where his clients included Citibank, Morgan Stanley, Goldman Sachs and Charles Schwab. Previously, he served as Senior Consultant with Cap Gemini Ernst & Young, LLC as well as a Senior Associate at APCO Worldwide. Dan earned his B.S. from Georgetown University's School of Foreign Service and his M.B.A. from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
Richard is Chief Revenue Officer at RhythmOne, responsible for global growth of the business with accountability for comprehensive revenue streams, scaling RhythmOne’s unified programmatic platform and extending the Company’s commercial footprint into global markets. He oversees Supply & Demand sales teams, Account Management and AdOps functions. Prior to joining RhythmOne, Richard spent five years as Chief Operating Officer (COO) of two programmatic advertising technology start-ups – Coull (Video Advertising) and Powerlinks (Native Advertising), where he helped commercialize, scale and increase the capital value by 5x and 3x respectively. Previously, Richard spent three years as a Technology Investment Banker at Charles Stanley Securities, where he completed nine transactions during his tenure. Earlier, Richard spent over 16 years serving in senior executive roles globally for agency holding groups such as WPP, Omnicom, Publicis and IPG. Richard originally qualified as an accountant (ACCA) at Baker Tilly Accountants, having previously studied at City of London Business School, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Business and Finance. He also completed an advanced management training program at Harvard University while at Omnicom.
Bhaskar Ballapragada is head of Product at RhythmOne, responsible for product strategy, vision and execution, including oversight of the product development and management teams, evaluating, prioritizing and planning product launches and enhancements, and staying abreast of the latest innovations. An experienced Engineering and Management executive, Bhaskar has over 16 years of experience within the Internet and Technology sectors. He specializes in running advertising platforms with high volume transactions and building optimization routines to improve advertiser ROI. Bhaskar joined RhythmOne in 2011 and during his tenure, has introduced numerous products and technologies, managed several businesses, navigated the organization through up and down markets, and increased revenues and profitability year over year.
Prior to RhythmOne, Bhaskar was a Senior Engineer at Damon S. Williams Associates, an Engineering Consulting firm. Bhaskar earned a Bachelor of Technology in Engineering from IIT, Bombay, a PhD in Engineering from the University of Washington and an M.B.A. from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University.
