blinkx Partners with Break.com To Add Viral Web Videos To Search Index

San Francisco, CALIF. - April 11, 2007 - blinkx, the world’s largest video search engine, today announced a content partnership with Break.com, the premier online entertainment channel for men. Under the terms of the agreement, blinkx will transcribe and index Break’s library of user generated and professional produced video clips, making it easy for users to discover Break’s compelling content at www.blinkx.com.

Break.com is one of the largest independent online video entertainment sites, showing over 12,000,000 videos daily to its audience of 15 - 35 year old men.  Break’s platform allows users to upload, distribute and monetize their original content, whether it is homegrown or commercial-grade.

“Garage video is exploding on the Web, and people are always on the lookout for hilarious viral videos,” said Suranga Chandratillake, founder and CTO, blinkx. “By indexing content from Break, we’re pleased to offer our users easy access to some of the funniest user-generated content on the Web.”

As the pioneer in video search technology, blinkx has built a reputation as the smartest way to search new forms of online content such as video. With more than 100 partners and seven million hours of indexed video and audio content, including favorite TV moments, news clips, short documentaries, music videos, video blogs and more, blinkx uses advanced speech recognition technology to deliver results that are more accurate and reliable than standard metadata-based keyword searches.

“We are thrilled to partner with blinkx.  With their innovative approach to searching rich media content, even more people on the Web will be able to find and view our large and rapidly growing library of original videos,” said Keith Richman, CEO of Break.com.
