blinkx launches local language sites in Europe
Video search service Blinkx has launched local language services across Europe in French, German and Spanish.
The aim of the new services is to make it easier for audiences in these international markets to search for online video in their native language.
Blinkx is already cataloguing AV content from international sources including Eurosport and Euronews, TF1, Elmundo, Le Monde and Spiegel TV, giving French, German and Spanish viewers the opportunity to find online videos in their native language.
Blinkx has also signed a distribution agreement with Ixquick, the meta-search engine. Under the terms of the agreement, a Blinkx search box will appear on the Ixquick website, powering Ixquick’s video search functionality and retrieving results from Blinkx’s index of videos on the Web.
