SAN FRANCISCO, CALIF. - November 7, 2007 - blinkx, the largest video search engine on the Web, today announced a partnership with New York French Press (NYFP), a leading provider of premium financial video programs and one of the few companies in the world to have access to the New York Stock Exchange video infrastructure. Under the terms of the agreement, blinkx will host, transcribe and index video content from NYFP at www.blinkx.com. Leveraging its unique AdHoc platform, blinkx will also place contextually relevant advertising against the footage, and will share resulting ad revenue with NYFP.
NYFP produces broadcast-quality financial videos for television channels, Web sites and mobile media, reporting live in French, Spanish, English and Arabic, and producing around eight to ten videos every day.
“We’re delighted to be adding NYFP’s premium financial news content to our video index,” said Suranga Chandratillake, founder and CEO of blinkx. “This partnership increases our lead as the Web’s largest video search engine, and reinforces our commitment to enabling audiences in international markets to search for online video in their native language.”
“We’re pleased to partner with blinkx and increase our exposure to new audiences,” said Pierre Alexandre, founder, New York French Press.

Today, blinkx has indexed more than 18 million hours of audio, video, viral and TV content, and made it fully searchable and available on demand. blinkx’s founders set out to solve a significant challenge - as TV and user-generated content on the Web explode, keyword-based search technologies only scratch the surface. blinkx’s patented search technologies listen to - and even see - the Web, helping users enjoy a breadth and accuracy of search results not available elsewhere.
