blinkx, PMC Partnership Boosts Video Library
Video search engine Blinkx has reached a partnership with digital media company Penske Media Corporation (PMC) to boost its online video library.
Through the agreement, Blinkx will offer a number of PMC Studios channels, including Beyond the Trailer, which covers exclusive entertainment content, from movie previews and audience reviews to Hollywood news and interviews.
blinkx will place contextually relevant advertising against the videos, leveraging its AdHoc platform.
“Most moviegoers are no longer waiting for a highly anticipated trailer to play in theatres,” says Blinkx chief marketing officer Julia Blystone. “Our audience wants to watch the latest in entertainment as soon as it’s available, and is looking for more than just a simple preview.”
To date, Blinkx has signed more than 800 partners and indexed more than 35 million hours of video and audio content.
