London, England and San Francisco, CA. — 25 May, 2016 — blinkx plc (“blinkx” or the “Company”), today announces that its trade entity, RhythmOne, is among the first to participate in the Trustworthy Accountability Group’s (TAG) cornerstone “Certified Against Fraud” program. Designed to combat fraudulent activity in the digital advertising supply chain, the group will only award its seal to those organizations that have met rigorous anti-fraud requirements. Early participation in this program reinforces RhythmOne’s commitment to brand safety, and is intended to offer its customers heightened assurance that their advertising will be displayed in only high-quality, transparent and trustworthy environments.

The voluntary program will include Certified Against Fraud Guidelines and a suite of compliance tools for all types of entities in the digital advertising supply chain. To obtain a TAG “Certified Against Fraud” seal, companies must complete the TAG Registration process, designate a TAG compliance officer and comply with the Media Rating Council’s Invalid Traffic (IVT) Detection and Filtration Guidelines, as well as offer domain list filtering, data center IP list filtering, and TAG’s Payment ID protocol.

The Certified Against Fraud program is part of TAG’s interlocking efforts throughout 2016 to eliminate fraudulent traffic, combat malware, and fight Internet piracy. RhythmOne is already TAG certified for meeting Inventory Quality Guidelines (IQG) and has been part of multiple TAG working groups, encompassing principles for anti-fraud, anti-malware and anti-piracy. Last year, blinkx launched its proprietary brand safety filtering technology, RhythmGuard, which is designed to eliminate suspicious and underperforming traffic before it reaches the Company’s marketplace – enhancing ROI for advertisers and maximizing yield for quality publisher partners. This new initiative provides additional validation of the Company’s commitment to brand safety.

“RhythmOne aims to maximize return on spend by providing the most efficient and effective marketplace for digital advertising,” said S. Brian Mukherjee, blinkx CEO.  “Quality inventory is the cornerstone of this proposition. Our participation in the groundbreaking quality assurance program underscores our commitment to creating a supply ecosystem that is transparent and free of fraud. RhythmOne will continue to work together with TAG, and play a leadership role in defining emerging ad quality standards and requirements.”

More information about this new initiative can be found at A full set of the requirements can be found on the TAG website.
